Subak is the art of beautiful natural Aesthetics in the island of the gods (Bali) is a civic organization that specifically regulate rice irrigation systems used in suitable planting rice in Bali, Indonesia. This water usually has a temple called Uluncarik Temple, Bedugul Temple, or specifically built by farmers and destined for prosperity and fertility goddess dewi Sri. This irrigation system is governed by an indigenous leaders who also is a farmer in Bali this year 2012. at UNESCO, acknowledged the Subak (Bali Cultur Landscape), a world heritage site, in the first trial, which took place in Saint Petersburg, Russia

The green revolution has led to changes in the irrigation system, the existence of the new rice varieties and new methods, farmers must plant rice as often as possible, ignoring the needs of the other farmers. This is very different from Subak system, in which the needs of all farmers preferred. A new method on the green revolution yields rich results at first, but then followed by constraints such as shortage of water, pest and pollution due to pesticides either on the ground or in the water. Eventually it was discovered that paddy irrigation system traditionally it is effective to overcome this obstacle.

Subak had been studied by Clifford Geertz, while j. Stephen Lansing has attracted the attention of the public on the importance of the traditional irrigation system. He studied the temples in Bali, especially for agriculture, commonly overlooked by foreigners. In 1987 Lansing worked with farmers to develop computer models of Bali Subak irrigation system. With that he prove the effectiveness of this system and the importance of Water.
